Current Action Items

We need to build and revitalize a broad and robust Anti-War movement if we want to see policy wins on nuclear weapons. Take action via the policy advocacy opportunities below.

Support a New Arms Limitation Treaty

The NewStart Treaty Expired on February 5th, 2026. This treaty was a continuation of 50 years of agreements between the US and Russia to limit the deployment of nuclear weapons between both nations. Without the agreement, there are now no legal limits on the two largest nuclear arsenals in the world.

Stop a Return to Nuclear Testing

The Trump Administration’s rhetoric in support of explosive nuclear testing threatens a dangerous reversal. Tell your members of Congress to support blocking funds for any resumption of explosive nuclear testing.

Cancel the Sentinel ICBM

The land-based Sentinel nuclear missiles are slated to replace the Minuteman Missile with an enormous price-tag of $264 billion. This is an offensive waste of resources. Join us in calling for the cancellation of this program.

Pass a Local Resolution

Local governments can play a role in preventing the new arms race. You can learn about how to pass a Back from the Brink Resolution here. Additionally, mayors and other leaders can bring forward proclamations. You can consider tying proclamations into key dates, like the August 6th commemoration of Hiroshima and Nagasaki. Reach out to one of our organizers to strategize about proclamations.
